Conditions and Booking Information

TO BOOK: Reservations are now being accepted for all tour programs. Call us now to hold your place. You may call us between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Eastern time toll-free on 1-800-458-5394 to book. ALL ABOARD!

TOUR SIZE: These tours will operate with a minimum of 15 passengers.

DEPOSIT: A deposit of 25% of the per person tour price is required to secure a booking. When you call us you will be tentatively confirmed, with ten days to send us your deposit payment and be fully confirmed. This deposit is fully refundable, except for a $75 per person service charge, for cancellations received up to 90 days prior to the departure of a tour. Visa, Master Card and Discover Card are accepted, or you may send a check.  For cruise-only bookings, the deposit policies of the individual cruise line will apply.

FINAL PAYMENT: Full and final payment is due 60 days prior to departure for all tours, unless noted otherwise. Bookings made within these time limits are payable upon confirmation.

CANCELLATION CHARGES: No penalty other than a $75 per person service charge will be assessed for a tour canceled 90 days or more before departure. Cancellations received within 60 to 90 days prior to departure are subject to a 25% cancellation penalty, based on the full tour cost. Cancellations received 59 to 30 days prior to departure are subject to a cancellation charge of 50% of the full tour price. Cancellations received within 29 days of departure can not be refunded. In the interest of fairness to all passengers, these rules will be, enforced. If we cancel a tour for any reason, we will refund in full. For cruise-only bookings, the cancellation policies of the individual cruise line will apply.

TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE: Trip cancellation insurance is available to protect against loss due to cancellation for covered medical reasons and is strongly recommended. Rail Travel Center® will invoice Trip Cancellation Insurance on all Deposit/Confirmation Invoices. You do not have to take this coverage but, for our mutual protection, we ask that you sign the refusal form on the invoice and return a copy of the invoice to us with your tour payment if you do not wish to be covered. We will then delete the insurance charge. Insurance is also available for lost baggage and medical needs. Ask us for details.

LEGAL LIABILITY: Travel Specialists Inc (dba Rail Travel Center® Tours) acts only as a booking agent for the various travel suppliers used in these tours. All travel suppliers are independent contractors and are not employers of Travel Specialists Inc (dba Rail Travel Center® Tours). Travel Specialists Inc (dba Rail Travel Center® Tours) is not responsible for any accident, personal injury, pilferage, sickness, delays, non-delivery, misfortune, inconvenience, or other irregularity on these tours. Names and addresses of the principals of the travel suppliers used on these tours may be obtained from Rail Travel Center® Tours, 125 Main Street, PO Box 206, Putney, VT 05346. We do not anticipate any changes or revisions to these itineraries, but the right is reserved to make changes as required, even enroute, and any additional costs will be borne by the participant. We reserve the right to substitute carriers and attractions. The right is expressly reserved to decline to accept or retain any participant in these tours. Any passenger requiring boarding assistance must give notice at the time of booking and in no case less than 48 hours prior to departure.

AMTRAK'S LIABILITY: The National Railroad Passenger Corporation (dba Amtrak) is not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not on its trains or conveyances. The passenger contract in use by Amtrak is the sole contract between the railroad and purchasers of these tours. All rates and features shown in this brochure are in US dollars and are subject to change or cancellation without advance notice.
